The Curly Mustache Podcast: Ep. 15 - Michael Taylor & Regan MacNeil (Pazuzu)

Hey folks! Thanks for checking out episode 15 of The Curly Mustache Podcast. Each week, we take one real-life villain and one fictional villain, and discuss their histories, crimes, motives, any connections they may have, and whether they're redeemable on our trusty Bowler Hat Scale. This week, Joel and I get a little religious with it, and talk about the creepy case of Michael Taylor, as well as everyone's favorite demonic presence from The Exorcist franchise, Regan MacNeil (Pazuzu). Enjoy!

We had a blast recording this episode. One of the more weird and fucked up stories we've come across, we didn't really know what to expect when diving into Michael Taylor. Researching is always one of the most fun parts about this show, so we hope you get some enjoyment out of our grueling work. We're still growing on the subscribers front, so THANK YOU to everyone that's been giving us recommendations and shoutouts on the different social media platforms. We appreciate you!

  1. Hi guys, great show.
    As a listener from over the pond (and from the great county of Yorkshire), I would like to take the opportunity to educate you about the differences between a Southern English/ London accent which was imitated so effectively by you during the show, and the Yorkshire accent which is likely to have been spewing from the demonic mouth of Michael Taylor.
    First, here is a shining example of Yorkshire goodness; Sean Bean;

    Now here is what Londoners generally sound like;

    To a Yorkshireman (even I imagine a Yorkshire demon!) getting the two muddled is generally unforgivable, imagine confusing a Texas accent with that of New York.

    I hope this helps; no doubt you will be dealing with the Yorkshire Ripper at some point (proper psycho).

  2. Hey Adam!

    Firstly thanks for listening to the show! It's always amazing to have listeners from other(better) countries. Secondly, thanks for the education and examples. It's really interesting! Personally, I'm not knowledgeable enough on England to really even know the counties, let alone the dialect (which is why I don't imitate it!), but I certainly get the comparison of Texas to New York. The same goes for the Southern States and then states like Wisconsin and Minnesota. We hope our sin among Englishmen hasn't deterred you from the show, and although generally unforgiveable, we hope you can forgive to hear us poorly imitate some other country's accents, haha. We'll certainly use this as feedback on the show. We appreciate you! Stay Evil!
