Hello listeners! Welcome to episode 30 of The Curly Mustache Podcast! Each week, we take on real-life villain and one fictional villain, discuss their histories, crimes, motives, any connections they may have and whether we think they can be redeemed with our trusty Bowler Hat Scale. As we move on from our October Spooktacular, we decided to ween ourselves off by bringing back up the Ottoman Empire (recently discussed in our Vlad the Impaler/Dracula episode). This week, we talk about the most known Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Selim 1 ( or Yavuz Sultan Selim) and the first Disney villain we've done, Jafar. Enjoy!
This one was actually really fun to research because we'd never heard of him before digging in. Without sounding too cheesy, the learning part of this podcast is one of our favorite parts, and it's always crazy to find out just how fucked up humans have always been throughout history. It's good stuff. Also, we go into a lot of detail about the Muslim faith and history of Islam. If you have negative shit to say about other's religions, keep that feedback to yourselves.
